A Conservatory Style Program
5 Weeks That Will Change Your Life
We will begin accepting applications for 2012 in November 2011
What it is
This 5 week intensive immerses the actor in the real work and business of acting. One of the hallmarks of Penny Templeton’s technique is to bring the training out of the isolated world of the classroom and prepare the actor for the challenges that today’s working actor has to face. Actors are crossing between the mediums from the Theatre, to Film and Television, where there may be little or no rehearsal at all. Just as the great teachers of the past continued to
evolve in their teaching Ms. Templeton has evolved with the thought in mind, “ How can actors be artists in today’s fast paced world without sacrificing their craft?” She has created new and innovative techniques while incorporating the teachings of our past.
Over these five weeks you will be taught how to structure your work and take charge of your scenes with strong and bold choices that are grounded and emotionally connected. Ms. Templeton’s enlightened approach to the craft has been used by successful actors, on Broadway, Television and Film, for nearly 20 years.

Testimonials
Would you give a statement about the Intensive for future actors?
Penny and Hank are always, unconditionally, on the actor’s side. They really create acting lions: fierce, ready to work, and hungry to go further with the material. Their passion is contagious and you feel like you need to work as hard as they do because they put their lives into the work. They open their studio to the actors and make us feel like home.
This Intensive is a MUST for beginning actors and advanced actors alike. Penny and Hank will mold you into an artist, not just an actor, an actor who is ready to work in a professional setting.
It was hardest, most grueling most rewarding 5 weeks of my life. I loved the Intensive. It is the best first step in starting an acting career.
What is your overall impression of the program?
This is the best possible program for what I wanted. My expectations were exceeded. What I did not expect was the way that all of the courses would feed into each other and result in an increase in understanding that was greater than the sum of the parts. Thank you for putting together such a wonderful program.
This Summer Intensive Course changed my life and opened my eyes about the craft.
What is your overall impression of the program?
The ethical lesson that transpires from seeing you both (Penny & Hank) work so hard and so passionately is very valuable and inspiring. It makes me feel that there are in fact other people who love and take this craft as seriously as I do and that prefer to do this 24 hours a day over anything else.
Would you give a statement about the Intensive?
The intensive is the most comprehensive program for an actor I have found in NY. Penny & Hank teach actors as individuals in the classroom setting and challenge you in the best of ways. I can’t wait to put their techniques to use!
The Intensive is not about “acting” but is about how you can perfect your craft. I have a new found respect for those actors who excel in their ability to get across their message using their skill as an artist.
