Every person was born with a photographic memory. Learn how yours works and how to use it.
Don’t Memorize Words, Learn the Scene
One of the main requirements of being an actor is the ability to memorize their lines. This is especially important for on-camera auditions here the actor’s eyes must be visible for the camera and not buried in the page. It also gives the casting director confidence in your ability to learn rewrites quickly on set. Memorization is also one of the scariest parts of the acting process for many actors.
If you are an actor who finds memorizing lines difficult. Take this class and discover how easy it can be.
We have been teaching our Acting Lions how to learn scenes quickly as part of the Master Class and Scene Study Class for over 20 years. We are now offering this new course on how to thoroughly learn a scene in a matter of minutes. The techniques we use are based on the concept, “Don’t memorize your lines. Learn the Scene.” This is based on the way our brains take in information, process it, store it and recall it. The acting techniques devised by Stanislavsky actually work extremely efficiently with the brain and memorization.
In this groundbreaking class we will learn to understand how our brains “memorize” and how to use our acting technique to maximize our brain potential and learn whole scenes in a matter of minutes rather than hours or days. With study, work, and practice very actor can have a “Photographic memory. By the end of this 3 week class you will have the techniques you need to do learn a two page scene in 30 minutes or less.
Memorization Techniques
- Week 1: How the Brain Works and how the acting technique is designed to help you memorize your scene. Followed by each actor being given a 1 page audition scene and 30 minutes to make their choices as acting choices. Then each actor will be taken through the technique that lets them learn the scene in 15 minutes.
- Week 2: We will continue to work on techniques to join your brain and your acting technique using scenes of 2 pages.
- Week 3: recap and applying the techniques to 3-4 page scenes.
